This I created for a contest on CodePen. I created the Stargate Portal. I was lucky enough to find a vector version of the gate, so I then went in and tweaked it, and exported the various parts as SVG files. Once that was done , I created a timeline animating the letters randomly, and then unlocking in succession. I also used a SVG filter called “turbo” to create the edge noise as the image appears.
